The message could be sent by banks to the BOP compiler for reporting of the banks’ own transactions, aggregated individual customer transactions (when needed), and portfolio transactions. The message could also be used for reporting the assets and liabilities positions of the banks.

This message is to be applied in the framework of the data collection for Balance-of- Payments compilation.

The message intends to enable a resident bank to report on:

Tiedye.gif (77449 bytes) its own transactions
(including portfolio transactions on behalf of customers)
Tiedye.gif (77449 bytes) the aggregated customer transactions
Tiedye.gif (77449 bytes) its own assets and liabilities position
All these reports are handled within the same structure. The difference is only in the meanings of the segments. A clear distinction between them is simply realised by adequate and simple use of qualifiers.
In consequence, the message is structured in nested loops successively giving all the requested reports. The first loop giving the type of report, the nested loops giving the relevant details.
