BOPDIR |
Message sent by enterprises (non-banks) to the BOP compiler to supply information on amounts received from non-residents via resident banks; this is an alternative route to sending a BOPINF message. Or, as is the case in France, to report on all their transactions, payments and receipts (Déclarants Directs Généraux or DDGs). This message could also be used for reporting on settlements via external bank accounts, current accounts held abroad with non-banks or participation in an international clearing system (in the case of clearing operations gross information has to be supplied). Further, this message could also be used for reporting results of questionnaires by enterprises directly to the BOP compiler. This function is certainly of use in the survey system (operational in, for instance, the Anglo-Saxon countries), but will also be used by BOP compilers with a general collection system. In addition, it can be used for reporting by non-banks on their foreign assets and liabilities. |
