ICT Standardisation policy multi-stakeholder platform
Welcome to the Interest Group 'ICT Standardisation policy multi-stakeholder platform'.

As foreseen in its Communication “A strategic vision for European standards: Moving forward to enhance and accelerate the sustainable growth of the European economy by 2020”, the Commission adopted a Decision setting up a European Multi-Stakeholder Platform on ICT Standardisation on 28 November 2011.

This Platform is a key component of the EU standardisation system set out in Regulation 1025/2012 on European Standardisation.

The Platform is composed of representatives of national authorities of Member States and EFTA countries, European and international standardisation bodies, as well as stakeholder organisations representing industry, small and medium-sized enterprises, consumers and other societal stakeholders. The members are appointed by the Commission for a period of three years.

The Platform advises the Commission on all matters related to European ICT standardisation policy and its effective implementation, including:

- the work programme for ICT standardisation (the ICT Rolling Plan) and its the priorities (the Communication on ICT Standardisation Priorities for the Digital Single Market);

- the progress in ICT standardisation and related activities in support of legislation and policies;

- the identification of technical specifications developed by global ICT Fora and Consortia which may be referenced, to enable interoperability, in public procurement.

The Platform meets normally 2 - 4 times a year in Brussels.
